At DiamondIT, we have been known to go a long way for our clients. This time, we went to a galaxy far, far away…
On Thursday, December 17th, as the whole world was frantically tinkering with their lightsabers to give them a T-shape crossguard and asking each other “Boba Fett? Boba Fett? Where?,” DiamondIT rented out the Edwards Cinema 14 here in Bakersfield so that clients, staff, family, and community members could enjoy a premier showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens the day before it was officially released.
At the showing, our guests were treated to dinner, popcorn, and a fun photo booth with Star Wars backgrounds, where they could reenact their favorite fantasy saga, battling with Ewoks on the moon of Endor or fighting AT-ATs across the frozen Hoth wasteland. It was more than just movie magic, though—the first 20 people at our event who signed up received a free IT security assessment (without losing a single Bothan!).
This event combined everything that makes up DiamondIT. We love technology. We’re all giant nerds. We love dressing up and having fun. And we love our clients. How could we miss the most exciting movie in decades? We’d have done the Kessel Run in way under 12 parsecs to make it here.
As the video, hosted by our own Kristen White, shows, everyone had an amazing time. People came in costumes, laughed, high-fived, traded their best Star Wars stories, swapped ever-more-obscure details about the franchise, speculated on what was going to happen, and got to know each other’s inner geek. The excitement was palpable, and by the time the legendary scrolling text started, the audience was already cheering.
There were also two presentations which, while not taking place in space, touched on issues that directly affect our clients and their businesses. We had a Network Security Presentation by Paul Limpias, IT Jedi Master, which talked about why network security is important to your company’s welfare, some easy steps you can take now to bolster your data security, and how DiamondIT can help you secure your data. That was followed by a StorageCraft presentation on Data Backup & Disaster Recovery Services, where we learned why data backups are critical to business intelligence, as well as learning some disaster recovery best practices. There might not be a Death Star bearing down on you, but if your data is lost or stolen, it can be your own personal Alderaan. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about these important presentations!
So for us at DiamondIT, the actual movie was just one of the highlights of the night. See, much like a plucky band of heroes who are always there for their friends, we love being able to do anything for our clients. We work every day to make sure that the people we serve don’t have IT headaches, and that everything runs smoothly and efficiently, from data storage to cloud-based services to telephony solutions. It’s our goal for you to not have to think about your IT. We’re here for you, so that you’ll never have to echo Lando and say “They told me they fixed it! I trusted them to fix it. It’s not my fault!”
We’d love for you to be part of the world of DiamondIT. Every one of our employees works to improve their knowledge and skills every day, so that we can best serve you. Contact us today to see how our IT solutions will work for you.
